Managing Partner | Technology & Systems Governance Leader in Tax and Accounting
Martin Lepper is the Managing Partner of Lepper & Company and Premier Payroll Partner, where he provides executive leadership over firm strategy, technology, and governance. Across more than three decades, Martin has led organizations operating in regulated, high-trust environments, applying technology and systems governance to strengthen compliance, security, resilience, and client outcomes.
Martin’s career spans transportation, tax and accounting, payroll, and healthcare, with a consistent focus on modernizing complex operational systems while safeguarding sensitive data and stakeholder trust. Prior to founding his firms, he held senior product and technology leadership roles at Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting and Johnson & Johnson, where he led the development and governance of large-scale digital platforms supporting regulated industries.
Today, Martin oversees secure, paperless tax and payroll workflows, multi-jurisdictional electronic filing and payment processes, and the governance frameworks that support data integrity, identity protection, and operational continuity for individuals and small businesses. Lepper & Company has been recognized by Wolters Kluwer in its annual report for its effective use of cloud-based technology to maintain business continuity and client service resilience, including during a facility-level disaster.
In addition to his firm leadership, Martin regularly speaks to professional audiences on technology, practice management, and governance topics affecting the accounting profession. He is actively engaged in the profession through his participation in the Professional Association of Small Business Accountants (PASBA) and the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), reflecting his commitment to continued learning, ethical standards, and the advancement of the accounting profession. Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Madonna University, a Master of Science in Management, Strategy, and Leadership from Michigan State University, and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Accounting at the University of Michigan-Flint.
